Review

Jackie Chan stars in this excellent ninja film as a rickshaw runner with a past but a dream. After Chung Fun (Jackie Chan) steals a sacred scroll from the forbidden city he finds he has no choice but to become Ninja the Protector of the Sacred Scroll. His cohort is Cao Pi, a wisecracking but amiable fellow. As the film continues he kidnaps the Princess, portrayed by Yvette Chang. Numerous twists throughout the film will keep you stuck on the edge of your seat. With a cameo appearance by Richard Harrison, who not only writes the scroll but teaches Jackie Chan everything he knows, this film is a definite winner.

Strong choreography adds to the excellence of this film; possibly one of the best ever in a ninja film. Special effects, including flamethrowing and smoke effects will leave the viewer in awe. (Webmaster note - Keep in mind, my reviewr is just a little guy.)

Ninja fans will love this film, which is destined to become a much beloved classic, watched time and time again.

Review

While camping in the woods a couple is attacked by a group of thugs. The woman is beaten and raped during the attack. Afterwards she plans to take revenge by hunting down the attackers. The thugs who attacked her turn out to be diamond smugglers so she decides to pose as a dealer who is trying to find some merchandise that has been stolen. Her husband, who is an Interpol agent, is also working to track them down and bring them to justice. The entire time, while the couple is working to track down the thugs, a group of ninjas is watching their plans while waiting to make their own move.

If you’re a big fan of ninja movies this is one film that you definitely should not miss. Packed with action, adventure and suspense, this film will leave you nailed to the edge of your seat until the very last moment.

Review

If you’re a Chow Yun-Fat fan you will love this film. Numerous action scenes make this film a poised on the edge of your seat winner that will keep you hanging on to the very end. Choreography, acting and cinematography are all handled very well. The climax of the movie is punctuated with an awesome fight scene. This is a refreshing take for a movie that is already an entertaining and satisfying watch.

Martial arts fans won’t want to miss this one. Unlike some movies, this film contains fighting scenes that are truly believable. It contains an excellent characterization job with action scenes that are phenomenal. In addition to the action scenes there are several comedic relief moments. If you’re a fan of martial arts movies, this is one that shouldn’t be missed. This is a rare movie that is definitely worth seeing with plenty of exciting action and adventure. Interesting dialogue and excellent acting complimenting a well crafted storyline.

Review

The legendary Polly Shang Kuan stars in this highly entertaining and enjoyable film. Colorful costuming, fast pacing, an excellent storyline and great opening all set the stage for a film that will likely become one of your all time favorites.

Somewhat complicated, the storyline traces the military conquest of a small and peaceful island nation by an ally who is nothing short of an evil despot. After his victory, the island’s three heroic protectors are left dead and their young children are hidden away in an effort to protect them.

The children grow up with different identities, completely unaware of their actual heritage. It is the hope of those who seek to protect them that eventually, when they have come of age, they will take their parent’s heritage to become heroes in their own right and defeat the evil ruler who is now in charge of the island. Polly Kuan takes the lead as one of the children, who surprisingly in the course of events, is actually adopted by the conquering despot himself.

Beautiful cinematography and a strong, compelling storyline that is frequently character driven round out a film that you surely will not want to miss.
